Donald Hall at Red River Theatres, "Christmas at Eagle Pond"

12/06/2012 6:00 pm

Thursday December 6th, 6 p.m. at Red River Theatres.

Gibson's at Red River!

Gibson's is pleased to bring Donald Hall back for a winter event! His new book is Christmas at Eagle Pond, a charming tale of one boy's Christmas. Former Poet Laureate Donald Hall draws from his own childhood memories in this moving and masterful story to give himself the thing he most wanted but didn't get as a boy: a Christmas at Eagle Pond.

To accommodate the expected crowd, we will be holding this event next door at Red River Theatres. We have made arrangements with the Theatre that this event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. A portion of our book sales will benefit Red River Theatres, instead. To reserve a seat, contact Red River Theatres.

Can't make the event? Call us (603-224-0562) or email us (gibsons@totalnetnh.net) to have us put a copy aside to be signed for you. Please note that we cannot promise that Donald will personalize a book, as in years past he has had to conserve the strength in his hand to make it through long signing lines.

The Peace Corps vs. Whitey Bulger. May 22nd, 2013

Fortunately, the Peace Corps never had to confront Whitey Bulger directly. Only our events this week, and not their subjects, are competing for your attention. Check the links to the left, and if you can, attend both events. Why have to choose?

We've been looking forward to the 5/23 Whitey Bulger event for many weeks. This ticketed event starts at 5:15 PM with a reception (if you would like to enjoy refreshments and pre-show conversation with our authors--that's $40) and the formal presentation begins at 6 PM . Red River will screen The Departed after the Q&A to show how Hollywood handled this explosive story. ($15 gets you into the presentation, the Q&A, and the movie. For popcorn you're on your own.) Click here for more details.  We'll have books on hand that the authors can sign for all the true crime fans on your list.
