Headliners Martha Carlson-Bradley and David Davis lead off this month's reading at the Poetry Society of New Hampshire, followed by an open mic. Newcomers are welcome!

David Davis has been a participant in the Powow River Poets group for six years (long, but not as long as Don Kimball). He began writing poetry in Colorado in the 1960s where his group did street readings in Denver, earning enough for a spaghetti supper on a good day. He is currently an artificial intelligence consultant who has written or edited five books in his area of specialization. His first poetry book, Crossing Streams On Rocks, was published in March of 2011. Alfred Nicol says, “David Davis, a poet of serious intelligence, never takes himself too seriously. Whether he is noting that all the cows were facing north but one or writing about the sonnet he is writing, Davis’ true subject is the play of thought. He engages in such play the way a child enters a game, alert to pattern in seeming chaos, anticipating surprise.” |
