After finishing The Alchemist, it is clear why the novel is considered to be a modern classic. Coehlo’s ability to convey rich substance and preserve fluidity of the plot- all while limiting his novel to only 200 pages- makes this worthy to be on anyone’s list of books to be read. I enjoyed the inclusion of diversity in definitions of happiness, which appeals to a broad audience and their “personal legends'', while also reminding readers that we are one with the Earth.
